Belfast, Camden Photo Walk

Jess and I went on our first photo Walk. it was fun, a great day not to hot, not to cold. People out enjoying the day. I was experimenting with filters and different camera settings, some worked better than others. I also tried my hand at editing some of the phots. Well, lets just say that some worked better than others.

Looking for Inspiration...

I have been thinking about inspiration and where it comes from. I look over my photos and notice that I take the same kind of pictures for the most part. So, I started looking around the net for ideas. I found a few sites that were full of great ideas. One site What you need to do after printing them on a sheet of paper is to cut all the coupons and separate them into 3 piles one for the "Themes & Subjects", the other for "Lens/Focal Length and the last pile you put the "Time of the Day/Lighting" coupons, now mix them on a separate bag or box. Great idea huh?

So with the help of the inspiration coupons I hope to be taking "different" for me photos. Not that there is anything wrong with landscapes and florals but they do get a bit taxing, constantly trying to find a new way to take a pic of a rose... You know what they say, "A rose is a rose is a rose"!

PHOTOWALK

I was listening to one of my fave podcasts and heard about something called a photowalk. From what they were saying it sounded like something I wanted to look into. So, off to the internet I went. I found a great site on Photowalking It gave some good information. There are others but I won't list them all, well maybe one more, PhotowalkPro on this site there is also talk about HDR photography... I really want to give this a try, some of the shots are amazing.

So I have said all of this to get to this bit... I am thinking about going to Stockton Springs or some other small village with a small harbor and doing a photowalk when it gets a bit warmer.

My last trip to California

I went to Cali with my friend Alice and we had a great time. We went to Disney and to Universial. Of the two I liked Universal best. Disney was nice, but having been to Florida... there is really no comparison. I want to go back to Disneyland. I have been twice and would love to go again with Jess, but she has a HUGE issue with crowds so I don' tthink that will be happening any time soon.

 

 

 

Another trip to a garden that resulted in some really nice pictures. I took several shots of the urn and this is the one that I liked best. The robin stood still for me for a very long time. His shot came out well. The garden bench was really used by me, I was tried from the heat and the walking!

 

This Lilly photo was taken at the University of Maine's flower garden. I took lots of photos at day and will post more as I go through them.

I love taking pictures of flowers. There is something wonderful about the colors and shapes that really makes me want to bring out the camera...

My General Hospital Convention
